The Time has Come..

Today it's my turn to tell everyone that I'll be taking a break and will move forward. This will probably be my last post. I will keep this blog up so people can still check back on the archives.

I've met people from different music scene and enjoyed their music. I've met a few and had seen what kind of people they are. That's enough for me. I will have fun listening to music whatever I like not worrying about what to write in Overtuneph.

I'd like to send out my thanks to everyone who visits my blog, to those who believed in me, to the local music scene hardcore punk, electronic music and indie pop scene. Keep on creating beautiful music, I will continue to check on your stuff when I get the chance.

You guys heard it right, Death Cab for Cutie will be playing live in Manila on March 5, 2012 at 8pm, NBC Tent, Global City, Taguig. That date is actually my birthday, so this might be a nice birthday gift for myself aside from my usual monthly toy purchases (~~for chrissakes! I'm close to getting broke~~!) I love most of DCFC old albums, not a fan of their recent works though.

Here's another pretty interesting EP from Peopling which I found on my inbox last week. Peopling is a solo project by a noise-rock artist from Brooklyn, NY. It has 6 track loaded with delicious noise going on all over the place. Now if you don't dig noise or if you're not ready for a new taste then this is not for you. Gentle Universe

I really dig the track "Saglit" by Gentle Universe because of its soft minimal tones, children-inspired ambient sound. There is some beautiful keyboard and unique instruments going on there. I know it's still early but it is very good. They will launch an EP soon, and I will definitely give you all an update about it.

Gentle Universe is founded by ambient musician and sound designer Cris of Blend:er, the group use vintage synths, computers, toys and field recordings in creating music.

Check out their video during Lopez Museum's Reverb (Zero In Exhibit) at SM Mall of Asia last September, and see what I mean.

A Tribute to The Lucksmiths

Thanks to Enzo's post in Facebook, it reminded me of Lucksmiths' best music. The Lucksmiths were an indie pop band from Melbourne, Australia, they played catchy melody and jangly pop masterpieces, they disbanded in 2009. They are surely missed.

Manila's indie pop finest artists made a tribute to the band some time ago titled "Music to Hold Hands to" with The Lucksmiths' delicious pop sound, a 21-track free download in Bandcamp. This is a compilation that you'll listen to no matter what year it is and some what a best mix while driving.

Sunday Driven Holiday - Ironic Humor EP

If you're looking for songs to unwind to after a long rough day, look no further than the "Ironic Humor EP" by Sunday Driven Holiday. The EP came our way not so long ago, six tracks hit our ears for a while. I'm pretty much impressed with Darwin's voice and emotions that pour out of him on this release. The album has a new mellow sound to it, catchy sounding acoustic guitars and drum beats are present and contains emotional lyrics all though out the album. The mix of acoustic on their music demonstrates well with the genre the band have created.

This has become another great rainy day tunes to put on your players when the skies turned grey. I'm hoping to catch them live someday. I couldn't find any preview of their tracks, but there's a video posted on their Facebook that will keep you going until you get your own copy of their EP. Carnival Park

I caught this band off in early 2000 mixtape which I got from a friend. After a few listens I know this band is right up in my alley. I followed their Myspace and Facebook for news, they did a few gigs and for some reason have been quiet for some time until a 3-track Demo for their upcoming album came out. Note that I haven't gotten to see any of their shows. Boo me. Okay, I might need to make a schedule to check them out one day.

Carnival Park's "This Feels like Summer" is totally sounding pop, reminds me of The Sundays on this track. "I Know the Steps to this Dance" song has an atmosphere which is open with their instruments, mellow and nostalgic. With their songs, I always feel like they will be more enjoyed while lying on your back looking up the clouds before sunset or watching the stars at night.

I think they are currently working on the album coming out soon, I'll certainly be checking their site for updates: Facebook, Bandcamp.

Kyte - Remix Works

Wow, It's been raining all week here. I miss the sun. I haven't updated this blog much.

Anyway, leaving you guys with an awesome music by Kyte from their new album Remix Works. My favorite from the album is their collaboration with Au Revoir Simone and Feldberg, but the rest of the songs are still good. Kyte is an electronic indie pop group from England. Their early music was often labeled shoegaze/post rock but this time they have moved into more electro pop influenced sound.

The Skyflakes

I've ran across the band a couple of times many years ago. It's about time I make a post about them. The Skyflakes are a Filipino American indie band from California. According to the band's Bandcamp site, the album Five Year Mission was released in March 2011 but recorded in 2006-2008. Smooth, cute and dreamy with that indie electro feel. Tricia's voice fall under that category of exquisitely beautiful voice, drawn out in the sweet cold breeze.

"Cellar Door" starts out with dreamy tune with droning guitars, lovely and it's actually my favorite track. The rest of the songs have strong tunes and melody that made me like them. I can't describe how good the music are, you've got to listen to them yourself.

P.S.
I think this is such an undeniably pretty album.

Man, It's been a while. What happened? I don't know. Got bored and focused on my other hobby which is figure collecting.

Okay, this is supposed to be about the artist. Oblong has been around in early Overtune Project days and being featured in this blog is way overdue.

Oblong's Free Taste EP was digitally released last February this year. It has 2 new songs and 2 fillers, Lo-fi, raw and sweet all recorded from analog recorder. The songs are quite different from his earlier ones proving it's unique style of sound hasn't been lost. Mark's pop-melodic tunes fit in distorted electric guitar riffs and a thumping drum machine beats, enough not to give you musical toothaches my friends.

So It was a boring Sunday, on days like these, it's just nice to chill at home and hear some good tunes. Happyboy music gives you that beat in favor of texture and nostalgic atmosphere. Many of the songs are smooth and mellow, sometimes it'll give you the feeling of lonesomeness on its instrumental soundscapes, well it depends on what you feel at the moment.

Shirley Steinberg on Lakefest 3

Shirley Steinberg was the first to play in the show. These guys are from Malolos, Bulacan and started in 2008. It was my first time watching them live and thanks to The Real Strength for providing the band's demo download link last year. The band has a unique brand mixture of technical hardcore, from mellow to melodic breakdowns and vocals that lead to forceful overdriven endings. The music soars and goes in exemplary directions, I must say. Unfortunately, during the show they have announced that Lakefest was one of their final shows this April. Catch their last performance on April 16, 2011 in Kalye Art Gallery (Please check the link for details on this one).

Walk Me Home Rocking out this Summer

Okay, so if anyone of you out there that doesn't know Walk Me Home then it makes me wanna shoot myself in the head. The band has been around since early 2005, after Mellow Del Prado and Reagan in Action broke up, Jade and Jeroze continued to work on this project. A long time may have passed and the band is still rocking out with their songs certainly likeable. This indie rock band from San Pablo City makes for some interesting listening. I actually took a fancy to a few of their tracks "Not Making a Decision is a Decision" and "Poor Anthony" in the EP "Probably Not Your Thing" that was released in 2009. Well these stuffs got some infectious chords and melodies. "Poor Anthony" music video appeared in MYX's programs and the song made it to radio UR 105.9 Pinoy Rock Countdown last year. Hopefully (and looking forward), they will release a new album soon.

A friend asked me, "How come you haven't heard of Legarda?" And I asked the same thing to myself. Well, I missed all the chances to watch any of their shows, and I only get to see them via facebook newsfeeds. I thank Youtube and Crapsalad Videos for this. You can hear the emotion coming out of the song, somewhat moving and might even give you goosebumps. Expect a wall of noise - some melancholy and some distorted. I was into it right away, but then again.. this kind of music is right up in my alley.

Found it today and immediately downloaded it. Owe No Homage Unto The Sun is a 12 track album, another beautiful atmospheric music by our very own Sonnet LVIII. The group hails from Valenzuela City, Philippines with Gonzalo, Dale of Apple Orchard, Rhon, Rommel and Elmer.

There is a definite spacey feel, shoegazey and great melodies that made it stand out - not a typical rock, my friends. Owe No Homage Unto The Sun is not my everyday type of music but somehow captivated me, this album is definitely a keeper. They deserve your time, grab and have a listen to their songs.. its free.

Dr. StrangeLuv - Sissypuss

The year is young and Dr. StrangeLuv is rockin out. I run across the music from this band a few times so now I decided to give them a proper post again. Thanks Ivan and Keon for sending me their album, "Sissypuss", so there's no excuse to give it a listen. Another folksy tunes and a new blend of soul into it. I sometimes wonder, how the hell do they even think of something like this? Very creative and unique. The opening tracks "Be the Boss" following with "Sarcasm,Spasm!" are an indicative of the quality of the rest of the album that has a bit more arrangement and fullness than their previous works. Dr StrangeLuv is not stopping, they have recently signed with Terno Recordings, a local independent label catering music of indiepop/rock, jazz, house, techno, and everything in between.

Sissypuss is definitely an album to take a listen to especially if you need a dose of blues and laid back feel. You go home, put the CD/MP3 on, settle back with a beer or any drink and listen.

I checked out Electro rock duo Glitterbyte in Youtube from their Facebook page. I remember talking to Francis Cycosis last year about his new project and how it's going to sound like. He gave me a clip of his new sound and as I hit the play button, I remember Nintendo Classic games back in the 80s. A video games inspired and jaw-dropping piece of technicality, think of some boppy beats, melodies born out with distorted guitar and a pocket of Smarties. Glitterbyte is currently recording and I'm going to be a fan of their work.

...I'm back. I realized that I've been behind, and haven't posted something interesting for the past months. Musically, that is.

Years ago, It's easy interacting with the bands and artists. When Facebook, Youtube and Twitter took over, I found it hard to connect with these people. MySpace linked to Twitter and other social networking sites, it's kind of hard to follow, sometimes, I got tired of playing the game.

There's a pretty interesting band called IYA, it is a Batangas City area band that offers a pop punk structure, and there goes the vocals, these guys are contributing back up vocals that make it sound more interesting. Apparently, they named their band after a popular actress in the country, Iya Villana (ever wonder why?). The music is poppy, catchy and happy at all times. I guess the first thing that struck me when hearing their songs was they sound like The Starting Line and other bands alike. I read their interview from Batangas HC Punk zine, that the band's influences are The Starting Line, Underoath, Taking Back Sunday and The Used. The Ambassadors is one of their local influence too.

They have independently produced an album which was released early last year and SHURIKEN FIST had helped them out. The group members consist of Shesther Alvin, Paul Andrew V., Paul Tomas C., and Shallum John R.

To be honest, it's been a long time since I last listened to this type of music. I'm not usually a big fan of pop punk but hey, their songs got off the ground and rock out til the end.

How was your weekend? I didn't get the chance to extend my stay in Manila for the Andy Deported and The Outsourced Show. Boohoo. Anyway, It was a geeky weekend with my friends, I'm not really into comics but It was amazing to see our local comic artists' creative artworks. Oh yeah, I know this is off topic. Haha.

Okay, time to get back into it. The music that is. Dr. StrangeLuv is another project of Grandioso of Stigmatics from Laguna, Philippines. This time he's working along with his brother El Scum. This is a diy home recording, letting out some indie-folk-ish tunes. I don't know much about the band, other than the information found on their Myspace. To be honest, I'm a little bit out of league listening to their songs, at some point it would seem that you're inside a good vibe indie film or a commercial, while some songs are understated and dreamy.

I'll keep an eye out for some of their new tunes, for now you can visit them on Myspace and listen to their songs.

Here's a new band from Laguna that reminds me of The National when I heard their song "Song and Dance Man" which is my favorite by the way, something about the voice I guess. The rest of the songs have a touch of either goth rockin' blues harmonica songs like "Guilty Conscience" and "Something Got Lost Somewhere." Stigmatics is a diy home project according to Grandioso and Funboy. Having Radiohead, The Velvet Underground, Sex Pistols, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Johnny Cash and Iggy and the Stooges as their priced possession, their music combined with each style which I find kind of unique, they've created such deep soulful soundscapes. Grandioso is also a member of Dr. StrangeLuv, a side project with his brother which I will feature on the next post soon. Overall, this isn't your normal everyday alt-goth-rockish trend, the music infused with a sort of strange and soul into it.

On Aug. 9, 2010, Stigmatics will have their fm radio debut in UR105.9 FM at 8pm plus a live interview with the members, so watch out for it.

Few days ago, I was googling "Overtune Project" and got surprised on what I've seen. The second volume of our indiepop/shoegaze digital compilation, "Sunny Sunday Smiling" is all over torrent websites. I honestly don't know how torrent works. I'm not against on reposting or sharing the compilation since one of our objectives is to support and let the music be heard all over the world.

My Parasol and Silver Gold Amazing song

Okay, so I woke up this morning and I just realized how astronomically behind I've been to getting new post in Overtune. I checked on my Facebook and found My Parasol's news feed that their new song "Silver Gold Amazing" demo is now available for preview.
My Parasol is an electropop duo from Los Angeles, California. Mark and Susan's creations are incredibly nice and catchy, combined with Susan's beautiful vocals. I am looking forward to their EP, hopefully will be released in Fall 2010.

Despite the fact that I've been listening to more mellow, indie-ish lately, I took a shine to this release. I got the demo material for more than a week now, I didn't pay much attention at first but what surprises me is the amount of energy and power that BISON imposes on their music. They are another solid style hardcore from Baguio City and Tarlac, Philippines featuring 2 of the ex-members of Defiant and Limitbreak. The group members are JL, Miki, Jian, Jon and Balong. The digital released demo is a 3 track heavy, thick sound and powerful vocals of JL and Miki. I didn't expect too much from the raw recording but it turns out to be damn pretty good. The songs "Draw the Line", "Strong Hold" and "Bison Headstomp" are good sounding start for the band. My favorite is the rockin' "Bison Headstomp".

They are currently recording for their split release with No Turning Back and Last Hope. This is Asia vs Europe split to be released sometime this year.

Van sent me their music months ago, but I actually opened it up just now. I'm getting pile of spam mails lately. Anyway, the band State of Calamity hails from Cavite and formed in late 2004. This is Cavite street punks that we're talking about here, and as expected the band offers socio-political full energetic pack of songs and lyric-wise will give awareness to the kids. The group members are Jon (vocals) from The Badtrips, Paul (bass), Kers (guitars) and Van (drums). Their self titled album that was released in 2009 consists of 9-tracks that captures all the speed, energy and intensity of diy street punks. This is free download guys. Enjoy!

The Morning After Chasing Lights EP Out Now

The Morning After hails from Batangas and formed in 2002. The band creates fantastic post-rock. The group consists of amazingly talented individuals Lorenzo Reyes, Emmanuel Panopio, Mark Nino Cordova and Mark Anthony Ascinas. In early 2002, they started out as an indie/power pop band and continuously explore the music from post-rock, shoegaze, indie, punk to metal. Until early June, they have created a stunning EP that made me sit up and take notice when I heard the tracks. I have to admit that "Through Emptiness I Rise" and "Laguerta" reminds me a lot of Explosion in the Sky and God is an Astronaut, these 2 songs blew my socks off the moment I heard them. "Chasing Lights" is catchy while "Memoirs of the Old House" stayed mellow in its great soundscape not to drown you to sleep. In other words, The Morning After's Chasing Lights EP was beautiful, it is filled with 4 great tunes that you wouldn't want to miss. I would recommend this wholeheartedly.

Dilapidated Buko Pie

Dilapidated Buko Pie is pushing their creative side with their sounds impressive and inviting. Bongbong Ranes (Los Baños, Laguna) learned about Sunny Day Happy Tune of Josh Alaban (San Pablo, Laguna) in early 2009 and later became partners in creating a music project. They even named the band from their hometown's delicacy "Buko" (Coconut) pie. This is a unique project because they are using Guitar Pro, FL Studio and Audacity software application to produce hardcore, punk and grindcore riffs. They include some different beats from jazzy blues, techno, death metal, Arabian tunes and many more to make the tunes highly energetic.

In preparation of its 1 year as D.B.P, they are getting ready to play live some time in 2010. They already have Darrell Puge as their guitarist and they are currently looking for bassist and drummer to fill in.

Fourteen Hours - Sore (Live)

Lately, I've been digging the songs from Fourteen Hours and found their live performance in Siege Tour 2008 in You Tube. The band formed in 2003 and has been inactive for a while now. They haven't called it quits though. They used to be one of the great bands from Lipa City, Batangas hardcore/punk scene and It'd be awesome to hear something from them again one day. The band consists of Nigel (vocals), Ferdz (lead guitars), Jap (guitars), Randy (bass) and Jomark (drums). Ian was the original vocalist of the band and decided to leave for good. Their music influences are Grade, Boy Sets Fire and Hopesfall.

I was asked by Sheng of Overtuneph if I can make a review of what happened on last Sunday’s Forgivenes Denied Reunion Show. So I said will I try to, because I’m quite busy with other stuff. Anyhow here it is.

I went to Trinoma to pick up and have a late lunch with my girlfriend. We’re supposed to get some tickets as well for the Dashboard Confessional show but the local area connection at Ticket World was failing so we decided to get it some other time. We picked a cab and head to Ten02, arrived a li’l late Legarda and Towards The End already finished their set.

Saw Felix at the gate and get the reunion show shirt I reserved. While I was talking to Felix, ByStorm was preparing for their set. So I get my camera and started to shoot. They pulled out a great set as the crowd started dancing and the venue starts to get filled.

Next band was The Beauty of Doubt I really love to see them play, they have this white cartolina posted on the stage with the names of the desaparicidos or victims of enforced disappearances. Paying a little tribute and make people aware of this incidents. They played some new songs from their newly released EP titled Just Matter. I recommend to check them out.

After TBOD, Demolition of False Progression hits the stage. First time to see this band play and they make the crowd going, a real treat for the crowd. Isvarah was next and throws another great performance. We are all getting sweaty as things heat up inside. Rush IxDx step the stage after Isvarah, they did a cover of G.I and the Idiots song “Broken Lineage”. Its really nice to see them play again. Play from Bulacan was really amazing to watch with all those stage diving and sing along. They play really fast hardcore. Staid was next to step the stage with full energy, straight edge, fast paced hardcore. You know what to expect from this guys.
Another band whose having their reunion show is Richard Collier with its original line up, been listening to this guys since Bid Time Return wayback then. They started their set with the song Somewhere in Time, then the old time favorite 02.14.09. Everybody was smiling and singing along. They also did a cover of Echo and the Bunnymen’s Killing moon.

After RC’s set I took a breather went outside grab some cola to chill, it was really hot inside. I wasn’t able to checked Nuclear Punishment’s performance. But heard they have a brutal set as well.

Next to set the stage was the pride of Batangas, SAUNA whose having a reunion show as well. They burn the house down as the crowd went wild. It was a killer set. I was at the pit, sing along and taking pictures. The whole place turns into a sauna literally, a free detox to everyone inside. According to Felix, one thing he regret about is for not being able to go on tour this band.

As the night slowly come to an end Forgiveness Denied took the stage. It was like several years ago since they last played. So you know what to expect. They open with the song Welcome to the Harsh Reality, it was from their demo released in 2001. And again crowd went APESHIT, they also did a cover of Harvest’s Epicure and Point of No Return’s Casa de Caboclo, which they cover ever since the band started.

We all thought that the show was over, until Ron of The Beauty of Doubt, announced that FEUD will be playing 3 songs. So everybody was like “Yeah!” This is a teaser for their upcoming reunion show as well this coming June 26 at the Pilipinas Fast Fest. They started with Direction, For the sake, and Unschooling the world. Everyone is yelling to play one more song ‘Lasenggo’. But instead they told the crowd to just come on their reunion show this June for the full set.

Everyone left the venue with the smile on their faces, wet shirts and memories of a great night of hardcore punk. And this proves that hardcore punk is here to stay.

The Vampirates Manila Leg on June 4 2010

Today Like No Other

Today Like No Other is a rock band formed in 2006. Contributing to the group sound are RJ Loresto, Ric Loresto, Adrian Cendaña, Andres Bernardino and Dylan Brodeth. Their music brings a certain strength to alternative/rock field from their home base in Makati.

The band was originally composed of brothers RJ Loresto, Ric Loresto and Adrian Cendaña. The three enjoyed playing together and decided to recruit more members. Andres Bernardino, a friend of Ric was recruited to be the second guitarist. After several gigs, their drummer left the band and invited Dylan for jam session. Finally, they got Dylan as a replacement and permanent drummer.

The song "Battered Wife Syndrome" was well played and a strong tune. These guys can actually play. They have 3 original songs including "Eros" and "What Can Make You Scream". Dashboard Confessional in Manila

I think most of us know Dashboard Confessional, it all started with Chris Carraba's solo project back in 2000-2002 while he is in Further Seems Forever. I have fond memories of their early releases and loved the songs. Not everyone likes Dashboard Confessional, love it or not, the band does it well.

Last May 27, 2010 the band came to Manila for a concert in Trinoma. They were also promoting their new album Alter the Ending. My friend and I came in early to get to the right spot so we can get a great view of the band. As soon as Dashboard Confessional got into the stage, hundreds of couple, teenagers and fans were screaming. In fact, there were all ages there. Dashboard's music is dynamic making the crowd full of energy. Whenever he strike for the song's opening, almost everyone knows exactly what song he was about to play. Most of the songs made the kids singalong the whole verses. Dashboard nailed it down to I think 16 songs? I'm not too sure about that. They started with "Don't Wait", ended the night with "Hands Down".

"Just played in Manila for the first time. I never imagined a show could be so awesome!", Chris Carraba said on his twitter after the concert.

I have to admit, It was a great night together with my old friends. One of the best shows I've ever been to.

Upgrading to Guitar Pro 6

I think most of you are already familiar with Guitar Pro. It has been an effective and useful way for teaching, tabbing and entering notes through virtual fretboard. As time moved ahead, Guitar Pro became an indispensable software for guitar and bass players. The latest upgrade Guitar Pro 6 was released early April of 2010, so many of us were eager to try it out.

Guitar Pro 6 is a big upgrade and a total reinvention of version 5. It has also enhanced its Real Sound Engine (RSE) audio playback, this I believe is one of its greatest advancement. You can have multiple documents open, and a tool bar that is more easy to use in the program. The sounds are full and rounded, so much better than the previous version.

It has a new GUI design, at first it may seem strange but very nice when you get used to it. The design is very inviting to play and easy to use. As a major upgrade from version 5, I think the price is very much worth the cost.

I would definitely recommend Guitar Pro 6. You may check Guitar Pro 6 website to learn more the details, it was well explained there.

Smoke Recess

For a small country, there are so many great Filipino bands who continue to bring new music to the rock grunge scene. Smoke Recess are among them. As an independent artist, they continue to find gigs and record tunes for their comfort and satisfaction. When the band broke up in February 2006, Don Victoria (vocals/guitars) decided to name their newest music "Picnic of Edible Smoke Recess". After the release of their Self Titled EP they have earned a reputation in the scene and continue to grow until "Go Get It" was released. The band has influences that do extend what's apparent. The Laguna-based trio influenced from 90's musical genre of grunge/metal/garage/alternative/punk/pop/rock. They bring up a refreshing sound on its 90's inspired-rock combined with a modern rock feel.

Smoke Recess with their passion for music continue to gig around the area and hopefully wanted to contribute in the global music industry.

Here's a music review from Mega Magazine by Rome Jorge on Nov 07 issue:

"Not a lot of people get what punk is. Not the young kids who worship Emo (meaning "emotive" punk) bands of today because they weren't born yet when Talking Heads, the Ramones or the Clash defined the genre in the 70s or when Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and David Bowie prefigured the music in the 60s or even when Nirvana finally broke through the mainstream in 90s. But Smoke Recess does. They even get Emo right. Their song "Bus Ride" rocked the airwaves. The rest of their album doesn't disappoint either. Heavily influenced by Nirvana local punk greats such as Philippine Violators and Wuds, their music bears the attitude of Sonic Youth and Helmet but with out the overbearing seriousness. This is music that a rocker can truly enjoy. "My Emo Song" combines catchy hooks, brawny guitars, drums and plaintive and pained vocals with ironic witticism."

INCOMPLETE 2 on June 1!

Last February, my friend and I grabbed dinner in Gateway before heading up to INCOMPLETE acoustic show. We got there pretty soon, I think we were one of those who came in so early. It was nostalgic for both of us, since it's been 4 years when we last watched a show together. The show started late while the whole bar is vibrating with people's voices and cheers for the artists. The show was lined up with punk rock bands and in the stage they played their best acoustic versions. They were amazing.

On June, another acoustic event for everyone to look forward to as the summer ends. Yep, you read it right. INCOMPLETE 2!

Band of Horses Infinite Arms Out Now

Band of Horses is an American rock band formed in 2004. Since I've been a fan of the band let me share my opinion regarding the new album, Infinite Arms.
When I heard the news that Band of Horses will be releasing a new album, I got really excited. I've always like their album Everything All the Time and Cease to Begin. I visit their website and there you can pre-listen to the whole album. At first, I was not that impressed compared to what I've thought about their previous releases. But when I heard the entire album, I realized that the band gets better and better as they moved ahead. Some of the tracks are upbeat and catchy, while most songs comfortably stays at a slow to mid pace.

I've been inlove with Club 8 ever since. Club 8 is a swedish indie pop band consisting Karolina Komstedt and Johan Angergård (Acid House Kings). They have made 5 albums - Nouvelle (1996), The Friend I Once Had (1998), Club 8 (2001), Spring Came, Rain Fell (2002), Strangely Beautiful (2003) and The Boy Who Couldn't Stop Dreaming (2007). Their next album will be released in May 2010 "The People's Record" something that we all look forward to.
